What cookies are.
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. They let a site recognise the same browser across pages and visits, so it can remember what you have done and how you have set things up. Cookies are unique to your browser, and on their own they do not identify you by name.
How we use them.
We use cookies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, measure how pages are used, and improve what we publish. We do not use cookies to build a personal profile of you, and we do not sell what they collect.
The cookies we set.
- Strictly necessary. Required for the site to load and behave correctly — things like routing, security, and remembering that you accepted this notice. These cannot be turned off.
- Functionality. Remember choices you make, such as your theme or language, so the site feels consistent the next time you return.
- Analytical. Help us understand which pages are useful, where visitors get stuck, and how the site performs. The data is aggregated.
- Targeting. Used by embedded content and a small number of marketing tools to measure reach. We keep these to a minimum.
Third-party services.
Some pages rely on third-party services for analytics, video embeds, content delivery, and social features. Those services may set their own cookies under their own policies. We do not control what they collect, and we recommend reviewing the policy of any service whose content you interact with.
Your choices.
Every browser lets you block cookies, clear the ones already stored, or ask to be prompted before a new one is set. Check your browser's privacy settings for how. Blocking everything will break parts of the site that depend on remembering you between pages.
For a general overview of cookies and how to manage them, the independent guides at aboutcookies.org and youronlinechoices.eu are a good place to start.
For how we handle the information cookies help collect, see our privacy policy.

Updates.
From time to time we update this statement. We will post a notice at the top of this page when changes are substantial. Continued use of the site means you accept the latest version.
